Sunny.

The clock is ticking for the epic season that was 2016-2017, but it's not over yet. On the very short list of open slopes, Jay Peak made the cut. We hope to be riding out this week, and going as far past it as we can, snowpack permitting.

Temps are already nearing 40F at the base and the sun is booming. Our Grooming teams focused their efforts on lower mountain trails during their shift, so we expect some of the terrain up top to have a thin layer of crust this morning.

Today we plan to have the Jet Triple and Taxi Quad open, along with 23 trails. The Jet is slated for a 9:00 AM start, while the Taxi should be going around 8:30 AM. Last chair today will be at 4:00 PM.

End of season lift tickets are currently $35 for Juniors ages 6-18 and $49 for Adults ages 19+.

TRAM AND SPRING LIFT UPDATE: The Tram is officially closed for the winter season. The upgrade project is underway and the Tram is scheduled to re-open this summer. Stay tuned for video updates of the $5 million project throughout the spring. As for the rest of the lifts on Tramside......they're closed too.. The Stateside area of the resort will remain open seven days a week until....well, until we're tired of skiing and riding. With close to 500 inches of snow this season, we'll be taking the season out into May.

Looking to stay with us? Spring lodging rates are $115 for 2 people and $135 for family of 4.These are valid April 27-29 and May 5-6. Give a call to our Reservations Team at 800-451-4449 to learn more.

Plan a Media Visit

Jay Peak welcomes all media who want to visit the mountain to see firsthand what sets it apart from other resorts. Jay Peak will issue complimentary tickets and exclusive access to members of the media who are on assignment from an accredited news or publishing outlet, and writers who have a verifiable body of work. Please do not show up on a Saturday without calling in advance as there is a fantastic chance you will not be issued a media ticket. (You might even find yourself wrapped in duct tape and lashed to the outside of the tram.) Also, please have a seat, take a deep breath, and really think about what you're doing before calling and asking for media access during any holiday period. Repeat that process if you're seriously considering asking for media access for family members or "significant" others*. Seriously....really, really think about what you are doing.

*EXCEPTIONS: We realize a writer may have a spouse or significant other that may legitimately secure the photography contract that accompanies their story. We will make every effort to accommodate such instances provided that the spouse or significant other does not show up with an iPhone and/or FlipCam claiming to be a “photographer.” In such instances the iPhone and FlipCam will be confiscated and sold for beer money.

SPECIAL LOVE FOR...Pay-to-players**. Those who fancy themselves "Executive Producers", "Managing Editors" or "Directors", but are in fact sales folks for their various publications and/or broadcast shows.....please walk down to the Registrar's Office of your local community college and enroll in Journalism Ethics and Standards 101. While we are a bunch of attention-seeking PR monkeys over here in the Communications office, we don't "share our partner list", "explore cooperative advertising opportunites", or pay $47,000 production fees in exchange for "editorial coverage." If it is cash you seek, drop a line to our Marketing Department at 802-988-2611. Just stay on the line until you hear the prompt for "Marketing."

**PLEASE NOTE: Calling with the pitch of, "We're currently working on a feature about Jay Peak and/or Mr. Stinger and would like to offer your vendors the opportunity to advertise around the story blahblahblah....." is a pay-to-play. Refer to paragraph two under Media Visits.

CALLING ALL BLOGGERS. Well....not really. We love to see our name on the interweb, and if you're one of these savvy folks who have carved out a rabid following, drop us a line. But when you do, have your data ready, like how many unique visitors your site receives on a day, month and a year; how many unique page views you get; how much time said visitors are spending on said pages; and where (geographically) these visitors are coming from. Be ready to share that PDF that Google Analytics will generate for you.

ARE YOU AN "EXPERT" IN SOCIAL MEDIA AND/OR WANT TO HELP US OPTIMIZE OUR WEB PRESENCE? Awesome, but it is not the Communications department you seek. We have a very limited skill set; that's why we're in PR. We don't make those large strategic decisions to hire such experts. If you want to pitch your skills, dial 802-988-2611 and wait for the prompt for "Social Media Expertise."

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A CONTACT TO COLD CALL TO SELL SOMETHING....ANYTHING? Don't bother with the guy below. He has zero dollars, even less sense, and would spend every dime on Heady Topper if the resort ever made the mistake of giving him a budget. Plus he has caller ID and has an intense fear of phone numbers he doesn't recognize.

DONATION REQUESTS- Please direct all donation requests to customerservice@jaypeakresort.com and allow for 10-15 business days for a response. Please include the organizations name, how a donation would be used, and a 200-word description of the event. DO NOT CALL THE GUY BELOW. He's not allowed to make any decisions.

In order to receive assistance, members of the media must schedule a media visit at least 48 hours in advance via the Media Visit form, or by contacting:

JJ Toland
Director of Communications, Events and Partnerships.
(802) 327-2198
jjtoland@jaypeakresort.com

Please Note: Spouses and children are not included (as mentioned above), except where the assignment involves family, children's programs or other stories that involve family members. Jay Peak will not issue assistance to other media personnel such at advertising and sales representatives.
